British eyewear brand SunGod have announced a new partnership with the women’s world number one ranked Cycling Team, Team SD Worx-Protime. This alliance will see SunGod provide their award-winning eyewear to the entire team, including reigning world champion Lotte Kopecky, European Champion Lorena Wiebes and former world and Olympic Champion, Anna van der Breggen.
SunGod’s partnership with Team SD Worx-Protime reinforces the brand’s commitment to helping grow the women’s side of the sport, while also sitting neatly alongside its enduring performance partnership with INEOS Grenadiers – notably SunGod’s work with Geraint Thomas and his iconic GTs™ glasses.
Team SD Worx-Protime’s decision to use SunGod eyewear in training and on race day is a true vote of confidence in the brand’s 8KO® Nylon lens technology. Developed through years of R&D with feedback from SunGod’s partners, including Liv Racing Teqfind, INEOS Grenadiers and McLaren F1 Team, the brand’s proprietary lens technology is tougher, lighter and clearer than industry-standard polycarbonate.
In the SunGod x Team SD Worx-Protime launch video, double World Champion Lotte Kopecky rides in a one-off world champion pair of SunGods, designed just for her – and clearly is excited to ramp things up with the brand in 2025. This comes after a huge year for SunGod, in which they released a pair with Pauline Ferrand-Prévot which she wore to XC Mountain Bike gold at the Paris Olympics. Now a rival to the team, this partnership with Team SD Worx-Protime solidifies SunGod’s roster of elite teams and athletes.
Zoe Watkiss, co-founder of SunGod, said: “Women’s cycling is growing fast, and we’re thrilled to be chosen by the world’s number one ranked women’s team.
“That Team SD Worx-Protime have chosen SunGod in a multi-year partnership is a real vote of confidence in our lens technology and our brand; it speaks volumes. Building on the growing success of our Pace Series™, worn by INEOS Grenadiers, England Cricket, and elite level runners, to name a few, we’re excited to see what we’ll achieve with Team SD Worx-Protime in the years ahead.”
Danny Stam, General Manager of Team SD Worx-Pro Time, said: “Our team is a place where people and performance go hand in hand – and we see those values reflected at SunGod. Primarily, SunGod’s lens technology has impressed our riders, with Anna Van der Breggen road testing SunGods since July as she prepares for her return to racing.
“It’s with that input that we’ve chosen this new direction as a step forward in performance for our elite riders.”
