Intersport UK has appointed Tom Foley (pictured) as its new general manager.
Former ISRA coordinator Foley will replace Barry Mellis, who is leaving to become managing director of ASICS UK and Ireland in the new year.
As well as founding ISRA in 2006, Foley has a supplier background with Burren Active Water Sports, Converse and Merrell.
He says: “I am excited to be joining the largest sports retail group in the world and look forward very much to working with the Intersport members throughout the UK and Ireland.
“The Intersport brand has huge credibility and is the true sporting retail channel for the sports user worldwide.
“The UK membership has shown good growth under Barry in the last two years and the potential for further growth and development is very exciting.
“I am looking forward to working with the team and suppliers to help members increase their sales, profitability and competitiveness.”
Foley will be at the next Intersport show at the beginning of January, and taking up his new position fully on January 31.
