New Balance has teamed up with running community GoodGym in a new two-year deal.
The renewed deal will see New Balance named as GoodGym’s exclusive apparel, footwear and wearable supplier for all their activities and events across the term. The announcement comes further to a successful collaboration in 2015, which saw GoodGym front New Balance’s Use Your Run campaign.
GoodGym connects people with physical tasks that will benefit their community, including manual labour for local organisations and social visits to isolated elderly people, and keeping them fit with the help of a qualified trainer. As a result, GoodGym has become one of UK’s fastest growing and most innovative running movements.
As part of the deal, New Balance will supply GoodGym members with dual branded t-shirts and exclusive discounts. GoodGym run leaders will be supplied with New Balance footwear and apparel and will be among the first to trial new products, providing valuable feedback on product testing too. GoodGym will also become the brand’s official charity in the UK, which will see New Balance support the growth and expansion of the project with sponsorship and joint marketing.
GoodGym will also host regular run sessions from the New Balance London flagship store on Oxford Street, which will give New Balance customers the opportunity to run alongside GoodGym run leaders and experience its community outreach.
Samantha Matthews, marketing manager for New Balance UK and Ireland said: “After working with GoodGym on one of our biggest and most successful campaigns to date, it was a logical decision to continue to work together. GoodGym are an incredible organisation that have achieved some fantastic things for the communities they operate in, and we’re looking forward to continuing to building on this success together.”
Ivo Gormley, founder of GoodGym said: “We’ve loved working with New Balance. They are unique in the running world, and really care about pushing running forward. We’re looking forward to achieving some extraordinary things together in the next phase of this collaboration. Their involvement has been instrumental in our growth and they have been incredibly supportive of us over the last couple of years. We’re excited to kick off 2017 with New Balance by our side and see what the year has in store for us.”
