Finalists for the UK Outdoor Industry Awards 2023 have been selected today, with consumers shortly having the opportunity to select their favourite new outdoor products.
The award finalists can be viewed on the OIA website.
Following 113 entries to the awards, as in previous years all products entered were on display at this year’s Outdoor Trade Show, the UK’s largest outdoor trade exhibition, held at Exhibition Centre Liverpool. The finalists in each of the ten categories were shortlisted by a panel of expert judges from the outdoor industry.
This year, a new “sustainability” category was added, sitting alongside the awards’ other categories: accessories, backpacks/travel luggage/bags, camping equipment, climbing equipment, clothing, footwear, sleeping, tech accessories, and tents.
The judging panel comprised key outdoor journalists and experts: Tina Collins (Editor, TentLife), Iain Duff (Editor, Camping), Jacob Little (Outdoor, Travel & Adventure Writer and Photographer), David Simmonite (Editor, Climber), Chris Starkie (Buyer, JD Outdoors), Sue Taylor (Digital Editor, The Camping & Caravanning Club), Chris Townsend (Gear Editor, TGO) and Ben Weeks (Gear Editor, Trail).
Promotion of the finalists and the opportunity for the public to vote will be done through our partners’ databases, to around 1,000,000 opted-in consumers.
Online voting will be open from November 2023 until February 2024 and the winners of each category will be officially announced at the Outdoor Industries Association Annual Conference & AGM in March 2024 (dates and location to be confirmed). After the awards ceremony, news of the winners will be shared via various trade and consumer channels.
