SV Werder Bremen and hummel celebrate Diego’s farewell from professional football with a special Legend Jersey. The design, featuring green, white, and orange, is inspired by Werder’s iconic 2006/07 kit—marking Diego’s first memorable season with the club.
In his very first season, Diego scored a goal for the history books, netting from over 62.5 meters against Alemannia Aachen to make it 3-1 – the Goal of the Year 2007. In total, the now 40-year-old Brazilian played 132 matches for the Green-Whites in the Bundesliga, DFB-Pokal, Europa League, and Champions League, scoring 54 goals.
With Diego’s iconic name print and the legendary number 10 on the back, green side stripes with lettering and stars, this jersey is a very special tribute to the Brazilian football artist. The Werder diamond with the championship star proudly sits in the centre of the chest, just above the main sponsor MATTHÄI.
“Diego’s impact at Werder Bremen is timeless, and we’re excited to celebrate his legacy with this special jersey. Inspired by his first season at the club, the design reflects the unforgettable moments he gave to the fans—moments of brilliance, creativity, and passion. It’s a privilege to be a part of this historic farewell, and we’re proud to partner with Werder Bremen in giving fans a lasting tribute to one of the club’s greatest players of all time,” shares hummel’s Marketing Director, Morten Lund.
In addition to the jersey, an exclusive collection will be available, including a scarf, cap, bucket hat, T-shirt, as well as the full kit with shorts and socks. The signature colours remain green, white, and of course, orange.
