Wilson Sporting Goods Co., the leading racket sports brand, has just signed an exclusive sponsorship deal with up-and-coming padel star Javi Garrido, making him an official Wilson player.
Under this deal Garrido will become a Wilson 360 player, playing with the Blade V2 in all tournaments and wearing Wilson sportswear, including the Hurakn Pro footwear. As of July, he will represent the new Blade franchise, designed to play aggressively.
Javi Garrido is a top 21-ranked player in the International Padel Federation (FIP) with a very explosive game. In 2023 he played the Master Final in Barcelona for the first time, a tournament that only invites the best 8 players of the year to play. This year he will start the season with Mike Yanguas becoming the youngest couple of the Top-20, breathing new life into the circuit and helping to further develop padel’s reputation as one of the fastest-growing sports in the world.
Javi Garrido said: “I am very excited to become an official Wilson player and working with a brand I respect and that has played a pivotal role in helping to globally grow the sport I love.”
“Javi is one of the most explosive players on the circuit and we are thrilled to have such a powerful player joining the Wilson team. This endorsement shows our consistency on the commitment to support the growth of Padel, make the sport more rewarding to play and elevate the world through the sport,” added the Global Business Director of Wilson Padel, Iñaki Cabrera.
Garrido will make his debut as a Wilson player at the Reserve CUP in Miami, an exhibition tournament taking place from the 6th – 10th of February 2024. His signing adds to the Wilson players competing on the professional tour like: Fernando Belasteguín ‘Bela’, Lucho Capra, José Solano and Thomas Leygue on the men’s side and Alix Collombon, Marina Martínez Lobo and Chiara Pappacena on the women’s side.
