Winners of the 2022 Sports Business Awards announced

The winners of the prestigious 2022 Sports Business Awards were announced on Friday 18th November, with sustainability and CSR proving to be the big winners.

As well as the celebration of some outstanding sporting events in 2022.
The FA won the award for Best Sports Event of the Year with the UEFA Women’s Euro 2022, whilst BBC and sunset + Vine’s coverage of the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games took home the award for Most Successful Sports Event Broadcast.

In other areas, Formula E won the award for Sustainability in Sport whilst Liverpool FC took second. The LFC Foundation also won Best Sports Community Scheme with their Red Way initiative.

This was the 7th edition of the Sports Business Awards, this year hosted at the Kia Oval, with Radio 5 Live and Countdown’s Colin Murray fronting the stage, along with a melee of special guests to present the awards.

Sports Clubs from across the country joined sponsors, partners, community schemes and businesses to celebrate exceptional work in sport across 19 categories at a lunchtime ceremony at The Kia Oval.
The Sports Business Awards recognise and reward the off-pitch talents and endeavours that are an invaluable, part of the fabric of sport and the communities they serve.

Attended by 375 leading sports industry executives, the awards are considered the industry’s foremost accolade, attracting hundreds of entries every year from both the business units within sports clubs and those professional services and businesses dedicated to supporting sports events and broadcasting.

Best Brand Activation Involving Sport: UNRVLD – Crystal Palace FC

Sports Diversity and Inclusion Award: Social Impact Team – Rugby League World Cup 2021

Agency of the Year – Under 80 Employees: Cake
