Zach Miller, Michael Wardian and Paul Giblin are to use NATHAN Gear at a prestigious ultra-marathon.
NATHAN, the Running Essentials™ leader announced their line-up of three elite athletes to tackle the Ultra-Trail du Mont-Blanc, one of the highest-profile trail ultra-marathons in the world.
NATHAN will provide hydration and other essentials for world-class ultra-runners Miller, Wardian and Giblin.
Brent Hollowell, vice-president of marketing for NATHAN, said: “As Zach, Michael and Paul prepare to face the gruelling high-altitude 100-mile ultra-marathon, NATHAN will supply them with a variety of industry-leading, top-selling products in order to withstand the harsh elements and keep them fuelled as they race towards the podium.
“We’ll provide our athletes with the best lightweight hydration and lighting solutions for use in between aid stations.
“The VaporAir race vest, ExoShot flask and Halo Fire headlamp are just a few of the key pieces of gear that will help give our team members the edge they need to compete.”
The Ultra-Trail du Mont Blanc is the highlight of the Ultra-Trail du Mont Blanc alpine ultramarathon race series.
Covering 103 miles and approximately 33,000 feet of elevation gain in France, Italy and Switzerland, the Ultra-Trail du Mont Blanc is one of the toughest ultra-marathons in the world.
“All three of NATHAN’s sponsored athletes are seasoned ultra-runners looking to make an impact in Chamonix, beginning on Friday.”
Miller’s young three-year career already includes a milestone, as he is the first American male to win a race in the Ultra Trail du Mont Blanc series, winning the Courmayeur-Champex-Chamonix in 2015.
Additional wins include the JFK 50 Miler in 2013, the Lake Sonoma 50 in 2014, and the North Face 50 Mile Championship in 2015. The Ultra-Trail du Mont Blanc will be Miller’s first 100-mile race.
Wardian has competed in some of the world’s toughest, longest, and most gruelling races around the globe.
He previously raced at Ultra-Trail du Mont Blanc in 2014.
Over his five-year ultra-running career Giblin has won numerous accolades, including a win in the 2015 Javelina Jundred and a fifth-place finish at the 2016 Western States 100-Mile Endurance Run.
In addition to their support of the athletes, NATHAN representatives will be in attendance at the pre-race Ultra-Trail Show & Expo (Booth #44), between today and Friday.
NATHAN representatives will be selling hydration products, and Miller, Wardian and Giblin will be signing limited edition NATHAN posters.
Miller, Wardian and Giblin are members of NATHAN’s roster of elite endurance athletes including ultra-running stars Rob Krar, Sage Canaday, Jim Walmsley, Stephanie Howe and Emily Harrison, and Olympian and World Champion triathlete Andy Potts.
