England Athletics and Strava support The Running Awards 2016

England Athletics and Strava have been announced as the latest partners of this year’s Running Awards, joining other key running industry names like Intersport in supporting this high profile event which has rightly earned itself the reputation as ‘the event to be seen at’.

Jenny O’Brien, Marketing & Campaigns Manager at England Athletics, said: “At England Athletics, we passionately believe in the power of running to change people’s lives for the better; we see examples of this every day, from our inspiring This Girl Can Run community through to the national athletes we support on their journey to wear their England vest for the first time.

“We’re therefore delighted to be part of this celebration of all the products, events, services and people that supported the seven million people in England who went running during the last year”.

Strava, the social network for athletes which connects millions of runners and cyclists through its mobile apps and website, will be hosting 100 key fitness bloggers for a 5K Run with Strava and exclusive Q&A session ahead of the prestigious awards on 22nd April at indigo at The O2, London.

Simon Klima, UK Country Manager for Strava, commented: “We are delighted to be supporting The Running Awards this year and look forward to the event in April. Strava is a great way for runners to find and keep up to date with likeminded athletes, as well as using our online network to analyse and improve training and performance. In 2015 in the UK we had almost 11 million runs logged on Strava, totalling a distance of over 86 million km, so it is great to see the UK Strava running community going from strength to strength.”
