To celebrate the upcoming 10th anniversary of the Sport Industry Awards, the Sport Industry Group has launched SIA Memories – a series of daily online video interviews with leading UK sport industry executives looking back over their sporting highlights of the last 10 years.
The series kicks off with broadcaster John Inverdale, also the chairman of the Sport Industry Awards judging panel, sharing his personal views on the last decade of sport – from his defining industry moment to sporting hero.
Each day in the build-up to the 2011 awards ceremony a new online video interview will be posted on www.sportindustry.biz via the Sport Industry TV streaming service, featuring a host of high profile industry names from the whole spectrum of the industry covering governing bodies, brands, agencies and sporting talent.
Among the interviewees to come include Baroness Tanni Grey-Thompson, London 2012 chief executive Paul Deighton and Roger Draper, CEO of the Lawn Tennis Association.
The Sport Industry Awards 2011 ceremony takes place on May 11 at Battersea Evolution in central London, with the sell-out event to be attended by 1,500 industry executives.
The ceremony marks the 10th anniversary of the awards, which over the last decade have become firmly established as the flagship event in the industry calendar.
The event has been graced by a stellar cast of sporting celebrities, a who’s who of British and international sport, including David and Victoria Beckham, Fabio Capello, Kevin Pietersen, Michael Johnson, Haile Gebrselassie, Sir Alex Ferguson, Martin Johnson, Dame Kelly Holmes, Thierry Henry, Bernie Ecclestone, Matthew Pinsent, Jenson Button, Michael Vaughan, Sir Bobby Charlton, Alain Prost, Baroness Tanni Grey-Thompson, Joe Calzaghe, Will Greenwood and Frank Lampard.
