As a landmark year in British sport draws to an end, entries to the Sport Industry Awards 2013 have closed with a record number of campaigns, brands and programmes submitted for the industry’s flagship celebration of commercial success in sport.
2012 saw the summer dominated by the Olympic and Paralympic Games, the British contingent in the Ryder Cup team inspire an epic comeback, the England cricket team take the world number one spot, British tennis finally win a major championship, the England rugby team crush the world champions and Chelsea secure London’s first ever UEFA Champions League victory.
Equally impressive work off the field has driven entries to the Sport Industry Awards 2013 to an unprecedented level, with last year’s record number of entries eclipsed by more than 35 per cent.
Those entries will now be studied, considered and analysed through a two-stage judging process, all fully overseen by Deloitte, the independent scrutineers of the Sport Industry Awards, to ensure absolute transparency and allow an unmatched level of feedback to entrants.
More than 60 key figures from across the industry will participate in more than 50 hours of judging before the unveiling of the official shortlist for the Sport Industry Awards 2013 in February and the announcement of the winners at the star studded Sport Industry Awards ceremony in London on May 2.
