Odlo Appoints New UK And Ireland General Manager
Leading international performance base layer and sports apparel brand Odlo,has appointed Phillip Weston as its new UK and Ireland Country Manager.Weston joins Odlo from Esprit where he has VP Head of Region for UK, Ireland and Benelux and where he reported into current Odlo CEO Christophe Bezu. Previous to Esprit, Weston spent 13 years at adidas rising through various commercial roles to National Account Controller running the Lifestyle and Fashion Divisions of the business alongside product and rangedevelopment.
In his new role at Odlo, Weston will be responsible for managing all aspects of
the Odlo UK and Ireland sales and commercial operation, covering the ski, cycle, outdoors and running markets. A key objective will be to communicate and educate all relevant retail partners about the performance and well-being benefits of sports underwear and garment layering as well as highlighting the incredible quality and value of Odlo products across its market sectors.
Of his appointment, Weston says, “This is a really exciting and challenging role at a pivotal juncture in the brand’s development. Odlo has real heritage and credibility and has been engineering active layers since 1946. The brand has a raft of new products and upcoming technologies that will open up its distribution opportunities significantly, and we will need to maximise this process. In addition to getting the message through to all the various sports markets we also need to ensure that consumers that participate in sports and active lifestyles are also fully aware of the many benefits of layering for training or competing.”
At Odlo, Weston will be reporting to Odlo’s Chief Sales Officer Antoine Sathicq who says, “Phillip is the perfect fit for Odlo. He has extensive relevant brand experience and his ambition for the brand’s potential matches ours. He will bring energy and dynamism to our UK and Ireland presence.” In addition to his adidas experience, Weston, an avid gym goer and sports fan, has worked for a number of consumer brands in a variety of sales, marketing and commercial roles. These include Ben Sherman Global Footwear Director and Skechers General Manager Europe.
