In celebration of the centenary of the Tour de France, Polar has launched the most advanced generation of its popular RC3 GPS training computer.
With a bold yellow band to match the race’s coveted yellow jersey, the RC3 GPS Tour de France features real time GPS based altitude information, allowing riders to see their current altitude as well as how far they have already climbed or descended.
It is the official training device of riders from teams FDJ, Argos-Shimano and Euskaltel-Euskadi, including Nacer Bouhanni, Marcel Kittel and Samuel Sánchez.
The RC3 GPS Tour De France edition is designed for cyclists and other sports people active in endurance sports, including running and cross country skiing.
Key features include:
• Back to Start functionality. Uses GPS to guide you back to where you began your training.
• Route Mapping. Helps you analyse and share your route through Polar’s dedicated training site, www.polarpersonaltrainer.com.
• Training programmes. www.polarpersonaltrainer.com also offers a series of endurance training programmes that can be uploaded onto the device.
• Smart Training features. Sports Zones and Training Benefit features provide information on each training session’s intensity and benefits, thanks to Polar’s H3 Heart Rate Sensor.
This data can be combined with information on cycling speed, distance and cadence to help you train smarter
Marco Suvilaakso, group product director at Polar, says: “Polar has been supporting pro cyclists in their preparation for the Tour de France for over 20 years.
“But anyone can benefit from the smart insights our innovative products draw from training data. We’re launching our special edition RC3 GPS Tour de France training computer in celebration of the Tour’s centenary year, allowing everyone with a passion for cycling to unlock better performance.”
