With health and safety legislation assuming an ever-increasing profile, getting bowlers and equipment safely onto and off bowling greens is becoming an important issue. As the market leader in the provision of pre-formed ditch channels and all things bowling greens, Sportsmark Group has improved the design of both its access steps and ramps.
The Hi-rail steps, available from stock, are made from a heavy duty aluminium section, which is corrosion resistant, with rubber anti-slip treads and varnished hardwood hand rails. The rear legs are fully adjustable to allow for different bank heights and the greenside legs are on a large flat to prevent damage to the green.
Sportsmark access ramps feature a lightweight aluminium box section, with a slip-resistant gnarled surface, and a safe load capacity of 850kgs. They are 1.5m long and have been designed so that when sitting on a standard height bank, the foot plate sits flat on the green, thus preventing indentations. These ramps are not suitable for wheelchair access, as the gradient is too steep to meet disability requirements. However, Sportsmark is able to offer longer lightweight ramps that do comply with the required slope.
Sportsmark Group is also able to provide all types of bowling green accessories and a wide range of high quality, British-made groundsman’s equipment.
