Solo Sports Brands Ltd, UK distributor of Global Waterwear brand ARENA is delighted to announce a new 5 year sponsorship agreement with The National Arena Swimming League (NASL),
The deal will extends ARENA’s sponsorship of the league through to 2020 incorporating the 50th Anniversary of the cup final in April 2019.
The National League continues to be one of the most important swimming championships in the UK, with more than 16,000 swimmers, 400 teams participating in the three rounds, October, November and December, with Finals in April. The B Final now takes place on a Saturday with the Cup Final being on Sunday eliminating the need for clubs to have an overnight stay consequently saving club funds. Splitting the two finals, although benefiting the clubs, has increased the cost to the League, but this has been made possible due to the generosity of the ARENA support.
“I am really pleased to announce our continued support of this extremely important club-level competition,” said Luca Belogi, Arena’s General Manager of International Business Development. “As the breeding ground for Britain’s future champions, the NASL represents the bedrock of swimming in the UK, and to be able to support the sport at the local level gives us both great satisfaction and exposure. Since the inception of our partnership with the League in 2009, it has proved an important medium for the visibility of our brand in the UK market, and extending our sponsorship through what will ultimately be a decade-plus signals Arena’s belief in the initiative, as well as our commitment to swimming in one of the world’s leading swimming countries, with its highly organized networks and its world-class programmes. We look forward to five more years of success and growth for the NASL, and a continuing strengthening of our bonds with the initiative.”
On behalf of the NASL Ian Mackenzie says “I am very happy that Solo Sports Brands, UK distributor of Arena have extended the current sponsorship deal for a further five years.
This is great news for the athletes and clubs associated with the league, ensuring the continuance of the Arena League in the format that we now recognise and is accepted across England and Wales.
The rounds will continue in October, November and December, all short course, to dovetail with the British Swimming talent guidelines. The Final will be in April, but long course and the times can be used as qualifying times for National competitions.
It is really encouraging that the sponsorship of the league is making a real difference to Arena brand, justifying giving us their support.”
Solo Sports Brands Ltd spokesperson Debbie Poulson says the continuance of the partnership is a successful conclusion for all parties and Solo looks forward to continuing support while enjoying and developing the very positive relationship that has been established.
