Ultra runner ‘marvellous’ Mimi Anderson has become an X-BIONIC sponsored athlete.
The 50-year-old grandmother from Kent, who suffered from anorexia for 15 years and only took up running in 1999, is a double Guinness World Record Holder.
Another world record – for running the length of Ireland – awaits confirmation.
Known as the M2M, Anderson ran the 345 miles from Malin Head, the most northerly point in Ireland, to Mizen Head in the south in 87 hours, 36 minutes and 23 seconds.
Mimi’s relationship with X-BIONIC, which is distributed in the UK and Ireland by Ardblair Sports Importers, began earlier this year when she first used one of the brand’s high tech Summerlight Trekking Shirts for the duration of the multi-day Jungle Ultra in Peru.
“My X-BIONIC top was perfect for the Jungle Ultra,” she says.
“No strapping was required to prevent the usual rubbing on my back – marvellous.”
Anderson was so impressed with the comfort and climate controlling properties of the shirt, she asked X-BIONIC to support her M2M world record attempt.
The brand duly obliged, supplying Anderson with a quantity of short and long-sleeved BIONIC Speed Running Shirts, long Running Pants, plus an advance sample of the Running Symframe EVO Jacket.
