Vulkan is launching a hot pink advanced elastic lightweight supports range in aid of Breakthrough Breast Cancer, the UK’s leading charity committed to fighting breast cancer through research, campaigning and education. Vulkan has pledged to raise at least £20,000 for Breakthrough by donating 25 per cent from the sale of every item in the pink range to the charity.
This is the first time that Vulkan has produced a range specifically for women, who it hopes will choose to wear these distinctly pink products during active sports including charity runs, walks and cycle rides, displaying their commitment to the cause and at the same time protecting limbs from sprains, strains and injuries. More usually associated with the likes of England and Leicester rugby star Lewis Moody and TV’s World’s Strongest Man competitors, Vulkan is acknowledging its female customers with this range, recognising their participation in active sports and the fact that the market itself is becoming increasingly fashion-conscious. The brand has developed new sizes for differently-shaped female physiques and used feedback from injury clinics to ascertain the most popular remedial products for women, namely knee, elbow, ankle and wrist supports.
All four pink supports are priced at just £11.50, with £2.88 from every purchase going to Breakthrough Breast Cancer, and will be available to buy online at www.vulkansupports.co.uk/pink, as well as gyms, fitness centres and sports retailers.
Breast cancer is the number one health concern for women in the UK, with over 44,000 cases diagnosed each year. Chris Askew, director of fundraising at Breakthrough Breast Cancer, said: “We are thrilled that Vulkan is supporting Breakthrough. The new pink support range will help to raise valuable funds for Breakthrough’s vital research, campaigning and education work, helping to bring us a step closer to our vision of a future free from the fear of breast cancer.”
There are four supports in the range. Elbow and knee supports provide compression for swollen or tender joints, so are ideal for protecting or preventing strains and sprains, while the closed-heel ankle support is perfect for easing tendon and ligament injuries. Finally, the wrist support is a one-size-fits-all design for weak, injured or swollen wrists and is suitable for either hand.
