A market analysis report by Fact.MR revealed that global sales of sports hydration products were valued at US$ 3 Billion in 2022 and are expected to reach approximately US$ 5.3 Billion by 2033; this substantial growth underscores the increasing recognition of the importance of hydration in sports, as well as the rising demand for products that can effectively meet athletes’ (and generally active individual’s) hydration needs.

Closer to home, the UK sports drink market is also experiencing notable growth, with a projected Compound Annual Growth Rate (CAGR) of 4.15% over the next five years. This growth is driven by an increasing number of UK residents engaging in fitness activities, and a shift away from sugar-based beverages towards healthier, low-calorie options.

The infused water market is also booming, with the overall global flavoured water market growing from .59 billion in 2022, to .93 billion by 2023; these figures represent a CAGR of 9.2%, showcasing the rapidly increasing consumer preference for flavoured and infused waters as a solid hydration option.

According to Diabetes UK, an alarming 4.3 million people now live with type 2 diabetes in the UK, influencing consumer preferences towards healthier drink options. Additionally, the British Soft Drinks Association noted a 12.96% increase in the consumption of sports and energy drinks from 2017 to 2021​​.
