Foot Locker celebrated some of the UK’s best basketball talent as part of its Home Court: London tournament, in collaboration with Jordan Brand.
Taking place on 19th July at Clapham Common Court, Home Court: London brought together some of the best local basketball teams to battle it out to be crowned champions.
Eight male and four female teams took to Clapham Common Court – refurbed by Foot Locker in 2021 – for a straight knockout tournament of traditional 5v5 games. UFDN took home the crown in the men’s tournament, edging a tense final by 1 point, whilst Thunder Bellas won the female tournament.
The winning teams took home an exclusive Foot Locker in-store shopping experience, including £500 store credit for every player.
Alongside the tournament, players and up and coming talent were able to get involved with coaching masterclasses as well as hoop challenges throughout the day, including a high-quality dunk competition as competitors put on a show for all those at the court.
Lostboys Channel curated a stellar line-up of DJs to soundtrack the day, including sets from Chef Dee and Ronin, alongside basketball DJ legend DJ Cadz closing out the day. The energy continued through into the evening with an after-party at Bricks, Brixton, with performances from BXKS and Chy Cartier.
Neil Carter, VP GEO: UK & Ireland said: “Home Court: London showcased some of the best local basketball the UK has to offer, with the players really putting on a show for everyone who came down. Basketball has always been at the heart of what we do as a brand, so being able to host this tournament for our community, especially at our Clapham Common Court, was hugely exciting. We’re hope we’re continuing to inspire the next generation of basketball talent, and maybe we’ll even see some of them back on the court in future tournaments.”
