Leading global specialists Corporate & Sporting Events (CSE) are set to serve up seamless logistics at the centenary edition of the World Team Table Tennis Championships.
The CSE team are busy planning the accommodation and travel arrangements for the two-week event hosted by the International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF). This year, the event celebrates its 100th anniversary.
Held across two locations in London from Tuesday 28th April to Sunday 10th May, the Championships will see 128 of the top men’s and women’s teams from around the globe travelling to the UK to compete.
The qualifying matches will take place at the Copper Box Arena in Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, Stratford. This was the venue originally built to host competitions including handball and fencing at the London 2012 Olympics.
Action for the finalists and the top 16 teams, including both of England’s as the host nation, then moves to the OVO Arena in Wembley. There, audiences will see the top ranked teams compete including China, France, Sweden and Japan in the men’s competition. Furthermore, China, Japan, Korea Republic and Germany will compete in the women’s.
While fans are focused on the action on the tables, the CSE team will be delivering their usual gold standard of logistics management. This sees athletes, coaches, support teams, event staff and all of their necessary equipment carefully tracked around the world. Consequently, international travel gets underway seamlessly, and transport once they reach London is equally well planned.
Accommodation is also secured that meets team requirements, ensuring athletes can fully focus on preparing for the event. Additionally, once the winners have been determined, the team is on hand to ensure safe transportation back to their home countries.
Simon Hainsworth, Managing Director of CSE, said: “It’s fantastic to be involved once again in supporting the ITTF with its World Team Table Tennis Championships – made all the more special this year by the organisation reaching the milestone of its 100th anniversary.
“Looking after 128 teams of athletes, all of their support staff, and of course all of their equipment too, might seem like a daunting task – especially when you consider that this event is being run across two sites in separate boroughs of the capital – but for the team at CSE this is all in a day’s work!
“Having spent time supporting events as far away as Perth so far this year, we are looking forward to being involved in such a special event in the UK.”
