A men’s board short that puts the planet first Devon outdoor lifestyle clothing brand dewerstone launches new board short which tackles deforestation
Princetown, Devon (United Kingdom) – dewerstone, an outdoor lifestyle clothing brand based in Dartmoor National Park, will launch a brand-new board short on 1st May 2021 which puts the planet first. Not only are the shorts made from recycled plastic bottles, but they also address the issue of deforestation.
As part of dewerstone’s summer 2021 collection, the Muted Jungle Life Shorts are about planting trees and directly doing something to tackle deforestation. For every pair of Muted Jungle Life Shorts that are made, dewerstone will plant 50 trees in Central America.

The Muted Jungle Life Short is the latest product in dewerstone’s range of board shorts made from recycled materials. Their Life Shorts 2.0 range also use a recycled feel-good fabric made from plastic bottles. For summer 2021, the Life Shorts 2.0 range offer new designs and colour schemes, with the Tan and Pantai Drift designs already proving popular.

“If every brand planted 50 trees for each product they sold including a design of trees, a jungle or florals, we wouldn’t need to talk about deforestation, because as an industry we’d have beaten it.” says dewerstone founder Rory Atton. He continues: “At dewerstone, we aim to put the planet before profit and in every decision we make we question the environmental impact. Although we know we are not perfect, we are driving for change.”

All dewerstone’s products are Climate Neutral Certified and for every product they manufacture they plant a tree. Being Climate Neutral means dewerstone measures its carbon footprint and sets ambitious targets to reduce it. dewerstone also then offset the rest of the carbon footprint through accredited schemes.
Through 1% for the Planet, dewerstone commit 1% of their annual revenue directly to non-profit environmental action groups.
