The organisers of the award-winning Ealing Half Marathon have issued a last call to enter the event on September 29, 2019.
The public sales close at 9am on September 16 (or sooner if places sell out). Charity places only will be available from 9.01am on September 16 to 9am on September 22, for Cancer Research UK, Alzheimer’s Society, Macmillan Cancer Support and Meadow House Hospice. Full details on running for charity can be found here.
There are just under three weeks to go until the eighth edition of the race and excitement is high as 7,000 runners from over 25 countries prepare to take on West London’s only fully closed road half marathon.
Ealing Half Marathon is a big favourite among the running community and is well known for its incredible community support and #EalingFeeling. The race starts and finishes in Lammas Park and the attractive 13.1-mile route takes in parts of Central Ealing, Montpelier, Pitshanger, West Ealing, Hanwell and St Stephens.
As always, a generous selection of prizes has been confirmed for the 2019 event, offering extra incentive to runners. The winning male and female will each receive £250 cash, £100 Up & Running vouchers and a magnum of champagne. The second and third place male and female will receive cash and Up & Running vouchers. Up & Running vouchers worth £50 will be awarded to the age category winners. £50 vouchers are also up for grabs for the first male and female Ealing resident and best fancy dress, plus there will be a random ballot awarding £25 Up & Running vouchers to four volunteers on the day, one of whom will also win a magnum of champagne.
Sandra Courtney, Race Director, said: “The countdown is now on for Ealing Half Marathon and we cannot wait to welcome runners new and old to the eighth edition of the race. Anyone not yet signed up who would like to be part of this amazing community event has until next Monday, September 16, to secure their place. Charity places will then remain open until September 22. We would like to wish all our runners the best of luck with their last few weeks of training and we look forward to seeing everyone on the start line on September 29!”
Sponsors of the 2019 Ealing Half Marathon include Up & Running, ASICS, St Augustine’s Priory School, The Forester Ealing, Move Clinics, Ealing Fitness Clinic and Fuller’s.
