Ferran Torres becomes the latest addition to Under Armour’s expanding list of incredibly talented young football athletes across their key markets of Spain and the UK.
The 24-year-old is back in full form, scoring four goals with Barcelona FC since his return from injury late November, as the club sits top of the league in La Liga and second in the Champions League standings. Torres’ determined mindset and resilient style of play, which have earned him the nickname ‘The Shark’ amongst his Spanish teammates, align perfectly with the values of the UA brand.
Spain is a fast growing market for Under Armour and Torres will play a major role in continuing that expansion in the coming years. He joins Fermin Lopez and Marc Casadó (both of Barcelona FC), as part of Under Armour’s Spanish athlete roster which also includes Tottenham FC’s right-back Pedro Porro and football icon Antonio Rüdiger of Real Madrid and the German National team.
Torres will be playing in Under Armour’s Shadow Elite 2 boots, designed for players who need speed and agility in their game, which suits the devastating attacking form of Torres. Off the pitch he will wear the brand’s latest performance and sportswear products such as the emerging Unstoppable range.
“Joining an iconic sports brand like Under Armour, who strive to make athletes better, is a perfect match for me. I look forward to growing in my career with them, as they rapidly expand in football and in my home country of Spain,” said Ferran Torres.
Under Armour continues its purposeful growth in football, with its ongoing drive to partner with exciting young football talent across Europe and create major football-led brand campaigns as well as its relentless pursuit of developing cutting edge, design-led football products such as the Shadow Elite 2 and Magnetico Elite 4 football boots.
Alongside innovative footwear, UA has a line of stylish and technical football first apparel, including the Challenger and Terrace silos, ensuring that young football athletes are able to excel both on and off the pitch.
