New OIA conference keynote speaker announced

Scott Nelson of the European Outdoor Group

A new keynote speaker has been announced for this year’s OIA Conference and AGM.

Continuing with this year’s theme of sustainability, Scott Nelson of the European Outdoor Group (EOG) will be speaking at the conference, to be held at Shrigley Hall, nr Macclesfield, Cheshire, on March 16-17, 2020.

In his presentation on the Monday morning, Scott will provide insights into the EOG lead Single-Use Plastics Projects, which is supported by over 35 brands and retailers in a Europe wide outdoor industry collaboration.

Different from many similarly-titled initiatives, the Single-Use Plastics Project outcomes were centred around a single industry – allowing the group to quickly design ambitious, innovative alternatives which cut across the entire sector. In short, the outcomes can be big, while remaining focused.

The project is open to all other members of the industry who see the inherent environmental, legal, and profitability risks of our single-use plastics problem. Scott and his team view collaboration as the only means whereby marked improvements can be made and invite interested outdoor organisations to join the project.

Early bird booking for this year’s OIA Conference & AGM will end on January 20. Currently for a full residential package delegate places are £320 plus VAT for OIA members and non-members £425 plus VAT and includes:

Access to all keynotes, workshops and activities on both days
Four-star accommodation (including breakfast) at Shrigley Hall on the night of Monday 16th March
An invite to the conference networking dinner
Lunch and refreshments on both days

Online booking is now live and can be accessed via the event section on the OIA website where further information and conference updates will be available.
