
Online spending is set to exceed £60 billion in the UK and £180 billion in Europe in 2016, a study from RetailMeNot and the Centre for Retail Research has revealed.
Mobile devices will be responsible for 25 per cent of retail sales in Europe this year, compared to 20 per cent in 2015, with British consumers predicted to spend over £20 billion on mobile devices and mobile commerce accounting for 36 per cent of online retail spending.
The average British online shopper will spend £1,311 in 2016, with an average transaction value surpassing £60 for the first time – the highest amount in Europe.
