Former managing director and founder of the Dutch sports brand Rucanor, Mr J van Rijswijk Senior, passed away at the age of 88 on Monday, January 21, 2008.
Van Rijswijk Senior founded Rucanor in 1956. He started the company from a small basement in Rotterdam in The Netherlands and from there he built the brand into a successful international operation. Jacob van Rijswijk was the driving force behind the brand until 1984, when he handed over the leadership of the company to his son Cees van Rijswijk.
