Burgess is currently playing rugby league in Australia’s NRL for the South Sydney Rabbitohs, but will switch codes to join Bath in the Aviva Premiership in October.
“It’s a real privilege for us to have Sam on board as the latest recruit to the Canterbury family,” Canterbury CEO Chris Stephenson says.
“He is an amazing player at a fascinating stage of his career.
