England Athletics Confirmed as Official Partner of The Running Awards 2016
The organisers of The Running Awards have confirmed England Athletics as Official Sports Body Partner of the 2016 awards.
England Athletics, the governing body for athletics in England, is the latest partner to support the prestigious Running Awards on 22nd April at indigo at The O2, London.
England Athletics joins other key running industry names Intersport and Strava in supporting this high profile event which has rightly earned itself the reputation as ‘the event to be seen at’.
The 3rd edition of The Running Awards takes place on Friday 22nd April 2016 at indigo at The O2 in London. The Running Awards is THE independent annual awards ceremony celebrating the very best of running and its culture, with runners and consumers nominating and voting for their favourite products, brands, publications, sports retailers, communities, nutrition, charities and events.
550 A-list industry figures as well as 600 running enthusiasts from the running community and 100 key running press and fitness bloggers will witness the best in the industry, as independently voted for by runners, being awarded the sought-after Running Awards trophies in April.
The shortlists for The 2016 Running Awards were unveiled in December, with an impressive 10,000 votes cast in the first few days. The second stage of voting is now under way, and voters have until 22nd March to vote from the top 12 in each category. The Half Marathon, Marathon and Charity categories remain open until noon on 20th April. From marathons to fun runs, online communities to apps and clothing to nutrition brands, the awards give deserving recognition to a huge variety of running industry favourites.
The full shortlists and voting can be found on the website http://therunningawards.com.
The Running Awards attracts a strong line-up of key running industry figures, and this year’s confirmed attendees already include Martin Yelling, Steve Way and Mara Yamauchi amongst others.
Paul Corrick, co-founder of The Running Awards commented: “We are excited to announce England Athletics as Official Sports Body Partner for The Running Awards. A perfect match with what we do, England Athletics is key to the running industry and of great support and inspiration to people across the country. We are very grateful for the support by England Athletics and are delighted to welcome them at what promises to be our biggest event yet.”
Jenny O’Brien, Marketing & Campaigns Manager at England Athletics, said: “At England Athletics, we passionately believe in the power of running to change people’s lives for the better; we see examples of this every day, from our inspiring This Girl Can Run community through to the national athletes we support on their journey to wear their England vest for the first time.
“We’re therefore delighted to be part of this celebration of all the products, events, services and people that supported the seven million people in England who went running during the last year”.
