In recognition of the fact that Allied Partners will cease to exist in the new year, the buying group, which was absorbed by Intersport at the start of 2010, held a ‘last supper’ at the Queens Hotel in Bournemouth on November 25.
120 Allied Partners members and suppliers, past and present, were at the event, which also featured a golf tournament at Parkstone Golf Club in nearby Poole.
40 players competed for the Allied Partners Ltd Trophy, which was won by Mercian’s Jimmy Smith (38 points) on a countback.
Phil Thompson of Adrenalin Sports came second, while Mark Norman of Dirty Dog Sunglasses finished third.
Unicorn’s Gary Cartwright, who plays off 16, won a bottle of champagne for his first-ever hole in one on the par three 16th.
