ASICS appoints new PR agency as it ramps up marketing investment

ASICS has confirmed Pitch as its new PR agency.

The appointment of the sports and sponsorship communications consultancy comes as the brand significantly increases its marketing investment in the run-up to London 2012.

Pitch’s communications strategy is designed to help bring the ‘Sound Mind, Sound Body’ brand ethos of ASICS to life for consumers.

As well as running the UK press office, Pitch will develop PR campaigns to educate consumers about ASICS’ expertise in the running market.

“We were looking for real sporting expertise and experience from our choice of PR agency and Pitch showed this in abundance, along with an understanding of our business and key markets,” says Eoin Treacy, ASICS UK & Ireland marketing manager.

“The UK is a key growth market for ASICS and will play an important part in the European-wide strategy for development.”

Henry Chappell, chief executive of Pitch, adds: “We’re delighted to be working with ASICS on such an exciting brief.

“With London 2012 rapidly approaching, the running market booming and this country’s love of team sports, ASICS is determined to maximise the PR opportunities in the UK.

“The increased investment in PR is a signal of ASICS’ intent and we look forward to helping them grow their business.”
