ERKE Sport expects to double international sales in 2011

ERKE Sport International made important steps for Hongxing ERKE Group by reaching ambitious targets of growing the international business by more than 50 per cent in 2010.

“Although ERKE had moderate growth in 2009 due to the financial crisis, we have been able to develop our business in cooperation with our international partners in 2010,” says Jeffrey Li, managing director of ERKE.

“Sales of ERKE products in the Middle East and some Asian countries have been doing very well in 2010, and our partners in Holland, Belgium and the German speaking countries in Europe are doing a great job of introducing the ERKE brand and our products to the retailers in these countries.”

In 2010 ERKE was the official partner of several major tennis tournaments in Europe and internationally. The company sponsored the Madrid Open and several ATP tennis tournaments in Gemany, including the Stuttgart Mercedes Cup and German Open in Hamburg.

New players and ambassadors within tennis such as Tommy Robredo from Spain and double specialists Philipp Petzschner and Jürgen Melzer have been added to the list of sponsored athletes.

In addition, a campaign in the Spanish football league featured the ERKE logo in a series of top football matches from August 2010-January 2011.

“We believe that we can double our international business in 2011,” says Li.

“We see many opportunities for ERKE in the market, allthough the sporting goods industry already has many strong brands.

“We will be ready to support our partners in Europe to reach ambitious goals.”

Full-year results from Hongxing ERKE Group have not been announced yet, but are expected to show positive growth in 2010.

International sales are still less than five per cent of total turnover, but are expected to increase in the future.
