Increase in OutDoor visitor levels

OutDoor 2007 enjoyed a nine per cent increase in visitor levels, up from 15,529 in 2006 to 16,900 this year, according to the show’s organiser.

Visitors came from 70 countries to the event, which featured 731 companies from 39 countries, including all of the top 100 firms in the outdoor sector.

A trade visitor survey conducted by an independent market research company found that 86 per cent of respondents said the show was either “good “or “excellent”, while 90 per cent said they would return next year.

Says Rolf G Schmid, President of the European Outdoor Group and CEO of the Mammut Sports Group: “OutDoor 2007 sends plenty of positive signals and gives the entire nature sports scene a new boost. We are very satisfied with the trade show. The next generation will have a big influence on the sector. Children help drive sales and represent the customers of the future. We want to draw young people away from TV and computer screens and interest them in outdoor leisure activities.”
