Portuguese giants’ second and third kits celebrate Lisbon and its iconic culture

adidas and Sport Lisboa e Benfica have presented the ‘trilogy’ of jerseys for the 2022/23 season through a film that shows the club’s connection with the city of Lisbon.

After the 25 de Abril bridge silhouette featured on the main shirt, the alternative shirts launched today have illustrative elements of the city: the typical tram is the motto of the away shirt and is present on the back. The 3rd shirt has a graphic design that reminds us of the typical Portuguese sidewalk. All three shirts will now be exhibited at Lisbon’s official Costume Museum.

The film that launched the 2nd and 3rd shirts explores the relationship of the club with the city’s daily life and with its citizens. On a global scale, eclectic and multicultural, Lisbon is portrayed in its essence of typical neighborhoods and more urban environments. From Fado to Hip Hop, the film goes through different eras until the present, culminating with the exhibition of the three shirts at the Costume Museum, an iconic location that gives a noble character to the ‘Sacred Mantle’. The campaign is created by O Escritório and the film is directed by José Pedro Sousa from Ministério dos Filmes.

The new jerseys will be on sale, starting today, in all official adidas and SL Benfica shops, including online outlets, and can also be found in major sports shops around the country with a recommended retail price of €90.
