Sadio Mané and New Balance Football unveil the new Furon 7 at the Deutsches Theater Munich

New Balance Football and NB athlete Sadio Mané unveiled the new Furon 7 at the Deutsches Theater in Munich on Thursday night. A specially built artificial turf pitch in the middle of the main hall of the tradition-rich playhouse in Schwanthalerstraße provided the unexpectedly perfect stage for the new “Dizzy Heights Pack” consisting of the Furon 7 and the Tekela 4.

With no distraction the spotlight was constantly on everything it takes to literally Be the Threat – skills, reaction, decisiveness and clinical finishes. This product launch in one of Germany’s most infamous theaters symbolically brought together tradition and innovation for everyone to see.

A Play in three Acts

In keeping with the venue, the launch event consisted of three acts: the reception in the baroque Silbersaal with a live performance by Munich-based indie newcomer Ennio (Act I), a fast-paced and competitive 3-against-3 soccer tournament with 8 teams consisting of Local Heroes, Content Creators and Friends of the Brand (Act II), and the grand final match, award ceremony and subsequent entertainment program (Act III).

Between the games, the extraordinary soccer field turned into the stage for Berlin actress & singer Paula Hartmann, as well as rapper, DJ & music producer badchieff.

In front of more than 800 spectators, guests and friends, the team around rap artist Sa1bou won the tournament and was appropriately celebrated by Host Harris, the Crux Pistols and Sadio Mané. They have also been awarded with an annual New Balance Football equipment deal.

“There are many ways to launch a new football boot and tonight it was very clear for everyone to see why I’m a proud member of the New Balance Football family. Bringing together so many athletes, creatives and interested people from all over Germany in my new home city and hosting a football tournament in this impressive location was amazing. That’s exactly the mindset I try to keep up myself – being unpredictable, creative but always focused on performance,” said Sadio Mané shortly after the event.

On behalf of New Balance Sadio Mané handed over a 10.000 EUR donation check to Right To Play, a charity organization Sadio has been working with for years. For more than 20 years, Right To Play has worked in some of the most difficult and dangerous places on earth to help children to stay in school and graduate, resist exploitation and overcome prejudice, keep themselves safe from disease, and heal from the harsh realities of war and abuse.
