UK Outdoor Industry Awards 2017 – now open for entries
Following the success and exposure that the inaugural UK Outdoor Industry Awards received last year, the search is back to find the next product of the year!
The Outdoor Industries Association (OIA), in association with the Outdoor Trade Show (OTS) and The Telegraph Outdoor Adventure & Travel Show, has launched the 2017 UK Outdoor Industry Awards, which are now open to entries from brands across the UK outdoor industry. The entry form can be downloaded at www.outdoorindustriesassociation.co.uk/awards.
Following the same successful format as the inaugural 2015-16 awards, all products entered for the UK Outdoor Industry Awards will be initially displayed at the Outdoor Trade Show (OTS 2016), the UK’s largest outdoor trade exhibition, in September (7th & 8th) 2016, where a panel of expert judges will select four finalists from each category. The finalist products will then be displayed within a dedicated area at The Telegraph Outdoor Adventure & Travel Show in February (16th – 19th) 2017, allowing consumers to vote for their favourites in person, as well as online.
Last year, over 100 entries across the ten categories were received, with the panel of expert judges (including specialist outdoor retailers and journalists), eventually proclaiming Frio’s Zipper Cooling Wallet as the overall ‘product of the year’ at the OIA Conference in March 2016.
The cost to enter a product into the UK Outdoor Industry Awards is £160 per entry for OIA Members, OTS 2016 exhibitors and Telegraph Outdoor Show 2017 exhibitors. The cost for any non-members/non-exhibitors will be £200. Award categories include Accessories, Backpacks/Travel Luggage/Bags, Camping Equipment, Climbing Equipment, Clothing, Footwear, Sleeping, and Tents/Awnings, Family Products, Digital Products.
