England and Leicester Tigers rugby star Lewis Moody MBE (pictured) is putting his weight behind the launch of two revolutionary new sports support products being launched by Manchester-based sports support and equipment specialist Vulkan.
Having been a fan and supporter of Vulkan’s products for several years, the flanker is continuing his support of the new ‘Vulkan Si’ and ‘Vulkan Advanced Elastic’ ranges.
Vulkan supports are the products of choice for many professionals and are the preferred supplier of choice to the RFU and official partner to RFU community rugby. All recognise their ability to reduce recovery time and provide the best possible support for sporting injuries.
The new Vulkan Si range has been developed to provide faster recovery from injury. Offering unique silicone support around the key areas of the muscles and joints and using only the highest grade of materials, this revolutionary range is available for knee, ankle, elbow and wrist injuries.
Vulkan Advanced Elasticated is the latest innovative lightweight support product from Vulkan to hit the high street. Developed using Nanoflextra – a superior performance material – it has anti-bacterial properties and helps to remove excess sweat from the injury site whilst offering enhanced support. Also heat retaining, Vulkan Advanced Elasticated helps to improve blood flow to the site of the injury, proven to speed up recovery time.
Both ranges will be launched and available from September.
Says Lewis Moody: “These new products are just what every rugby player or athlete needs to get them back into action as quickly as possible following an injury. Even the slightest knock can have an impact on performance and I know that, in a tough game like rugby, Vulkan products are one of the most effective ways to protect an injury or prevent a new one from occurring.”
Vulkan is part of Oldham-based Mobilis Healthcare Group, one of the UK’s leading medical suppliers. The company heads the field in healthcare, fitness and well-being and is committed to helping with rehabilitation and injury prevention, as well as encouraging sports participation and active living.
Commenting on the company’s continued work with Lewis Moody, Vulkan Brand Manager Fiona Wiseman said: “Lewis embodies many of the qualities that represent Vulkan and, as a tough player in a tough sport, we are delighted to have him on board to help us promote our range and in particular our two exciting new ranges.”
With research from Leicester University showing that most rugby injuries keep players out of the game for an average of 18 days, Lewis said: “Like all professionals, I want to get back on the field as quickly as possible following an injury and by wearing Vulkan I know, without a shadow of doubt, that I’m getting the best possible support there is.”
