American sock manufacturer Stance has today introduced its latest partnership and first dive into the football industry by collaborating with five-times Champions League winners FC Barcelona.

The limited-edition Stance x FC Barcelona range will see one of the most renowned clubs in world football partner with a brand, famous for bringing the magic to the previously mundane with a three-sock drop, inspired by the iconic red-and-blue striped kit of the Catalan giants.

Known for its commitment to design and tech innovation, the collaboration sees Stance step into the world of football for the first time following previous successful partnerships with the NFL, NBA and MLB, which saw the brand give fans the chance to show their support for their favourite team through an oft-forgotten product.

As well as focusing on the kit made by famous by the likes of Lionel Messi, Johan Cryuff and Pep Guardiola, Stance also sought inspiration from the rich culture of the city, with Barcelona widely regarded as one of Europe’s most loved cities. Its reputation as a creative hotspot, where street art regularly fuses with the world of skate and surf, also appealed to Stance’s values, making this natural partnership.

Designed collaboratively between the teams in Barcelona and at Stance’s headquarters in Southern California, the socks feature the club’s iconic colours and crest, whilst another pair sport FC Barcelona’s motto “Més que un club” [More than a club], allowing fans to show their passion and allegiance every time they step out.

Founded in 2009, Stance’s uncommon approach to art and science quickly turned the overlooked category of socks into a fashion staple, while redefining expectations of how socks should feel and perform. Stance has since expanded its categories into underwear and are expanding out into a wider apparel offering.
