New report reveals Wimbledon winners

Wilson was the number one racquet manufacturer for the 20th consecutive year at the championships, according to SPORTS MARKETING SURVEYS INC’s 2014 Wimbledon equipment census.

This year’s event was particularly successful for the brand, with 11 racquets in play in the last 16 of the men and ladies’ singles (34 per cent of the racquets at this stage of the tournament).

Continuing its considerable momentum, Babolat established itself as the number two racquet brand at Wimbledon and the number one racquet brand among female competitors, with a 33 per cent share.

HEAD gained the highest number of racquets year on year, increasing its stable by 20, and with nine champions had the highest percentage of tournament winners, which included Novak Djokovic.

SMS INC’s annual report also documents each brand’s time on the main show courts during the championships.

Wilson gained the most exposure, notching up a total of 5,787 minutes, while HEAD managed to top show court exposure in the men’s singles competition.

When it comes to shoe brands, Nike and adidas continue to dominate, sharing 70 per cent of show court exposure.
