Winners of 12th Salomon Cappadocia Ultra-Trail Announced


Elite Salomon athletes conquer Türkiye’s iconic Cappadocia landscape

23rd, October 2025: Türkiye’s iconic region of Cappadocia once again hosted one of the country’s most celebrated sporting events, the Salomon Cappadocia Ultra-Trail, from 17–19 October 2025. This marked another unforgettable edition of this internationally acclaimed trail-running spectacle.

Now in its 12th year, the event drew athletes from around the world. They came to tackle Cappadocia’s awe-inspiring terrain, recognised on the UNESCO World Heritage List for its Göreme Open Air Museum and rock sites.

Salomon Cappadocia Ultra-Trail (CUT) – (119 km with 3,730+ m of altitude) variation

The flagship event saw Stanislav Sabokar claim victory in 12:33:13, followed by Mustafa Dağdelen and Hossein Niroomandi.

(Salomon Cappadocia Medium Trail (CMT) – 63 km with 2,030+ m of altitude)

Christian Meier triumphed in 5:21:44, with Oğuzhan Emre Singer and Ivan Biriuzov rounding out the podium.

(Salomon Cappadocia Short Trail (CST) – 38 km with 1,120 m of altitude)

Mestan Turhan emerged victorious in 2:46:48, delivering a thrilling performance through Cappadocia’s spectacular valleys. He showcased the spirit of endurance that defines the event.

(Salomon Cappadocia MINI Trail (CMIT) – 14 km with 308 m of altitude)

Oscar Basantes claimed first place in 1:01:12, leading the way on this scenic introductory route. The route offers new runners an inspiring entry point into trail running.

Supported by the Ministry of Youth and Sports, the Türkiye Tourism Promotion and Development Agency (TGA), and the Turkish Athletic Federation, the 2025 event highlighted Türkiye’s extraordinary geography. It also showcased the growing adventure tourism appeal, involving local administrations.

New Team Format Celebrates Collective Spirit

Adding to the excitement, the Cappadocia Team Games made a strong impact in 2025. They featured team-based formats across the main races:

Long Trail 119K: 2-person teams

Medium Trail 63K: 6-person teams

Short Trail 38K: 3-person teams

Winning teams were honoured alongside individual champions at the awards ceremony, celebrating both personal and collective achievements.

Beyond Sport: Cappadocia’s Timeless Dreamscape

More than a sporting event, the Salomon Cappadocia Ultra-Trail continues to shine a global spotlight on the region’s cultural, historical, and natural treasures. Each year, it attracts athletes from over 75 countries, along with thousands of spectators and visitors. This reinforces Cappadocia’s status as a world-class destination for both sport and tourism.

Last year alone, the region welcomed over 4.37 million visitors to its museums and archaeological sites. This is a testament to Cappadocia’s enduring appeal and its growing reputation as one of Türkiye’s most captivating destinations.
