HOKA ONE ONE unveils its Spring ‘19 line and offers the largest and most diverse line-up the brand has ever announced for a spring season.
It includes new editions of (and new additions to) the Fly Collection, key updates to the Trail, ATR and Dynamic Stability categories, and a new hiking-focused collection called Sky.
Fly Updates
Innovations and two additions give the versatile, performance-based Fly Collection an exciting new look.
The Cavu 2 (MSRP £105) has been stripped down and loses more than an ounce over its predecessor in the men’s version; the Mach 2 (MSRP £130) has been reformulated with a fullRBOUNDTM midsole and a single-shot, adhesive-free PROFLYTM construction, plus a no-sew upper and retuned Meta-Rocker to solidify this as the brand’s light, fast running trainer.
The best-selling Elevon remains in the line-up with new colourways (MSRP £130). Atop these updates is another addition to the collection. The Tivra is designed with high-intensity gym workouts in mind; high sidewall wraps, a locked-down midfoot in the upper, and maximum ground contact in pivot zones maximize its lateral capabilities and versatility for activities beyond running. MSRP £85.
Sky Collection
Three new models look to make HOKA a leader in the hiking space. The Sky Kaha offers a supreme weight-to-cushion ratio, waterproof eVent bootie in the upper and trekking-specific last to support long days (and more) on the trail. MSRP £170.
The Sky Arkali is designed to handle the roughest terrain while remaining as light as possible; a Kevlar-enforced MATRYX upper, high-abrasion rubber toe cap, and aggressive Vibram rubber lugs offer grip, protection and versatility on uneven, challenging ground. MSRP £160.
The Sky Toa is designed for fast hiking, with a full RMAT midsole to balance cushion and responsiveness, a lightweight, technical upper featuring an eVent waterproof bootie, and a running-inspired midsole and outsole for adaptive stability underfoot. MSRP £150.
ATR and Trail
The Challenger ATR 5 receives a full update while retaining the stack height, heel-to-toe drop, weight-to-cushion ratio and all-terrain versatility that has made this shoe a hit. The five features a new midsole and outsole construction with more rubber coverage for increased durability and broader lugs designed to better function both on- and off-road. MSRP £115.
The Stinson ATR 5, meanwhile, retains the wide midsole and outsole of the “4,” but features a new upper with a midfoot lockdown and more open, breathable mesh. MSRP £130.
The Speedgoat 3 retains the aggressive, adaptable midsole and outsole that have helped this trail shoe shine on the world’s most challenging terrain, but introduces an upper with a vamp and midfoot lockdown for better lateral support no matter how your foot lands. MSRP £125.
Dynamic Stability
The lightweight-yet-supportive Arahi 3 is rebuilt from the ground up for its third edition. The signature J-FrameTM still provides dynamic stability for over-pronators, but it accompanies an improved ride, and more open and breathable upper with supportive overlays. MSRP £115.
The Gaviota 2 retains the same midsole and outsole as its predecessor, but adds a more dialed fit and upper to improve the brand’s most stable selection. MSPR £130.
Recovery/Ora
In addition to slight updates to the best-selling Ora Slide 2 and Ora Flip, HOKA introduces the Ora Shoe, a packable, comfortable full-coverage shoe with a foldable heel. Versatile and breathable, it is perfect for a post-workout shoe or as part of an active lifestyle. MSRP £35.
