KYMIRA®, a global leader in infrared performance and recovery wear, proudly announces the publication of a highly significant new peer-reviewed clinical study conducted by the University of Notre Dame. The study, published in the Journal of Functional Morphology and Kinesiology, reveals compelling evidence that KYMIRA’s infrared-emitting garments significantly enhance both objective and subjective recovery following resistance exercise.
Titled “A Preliminary Investigation of the Efficacy of Far-Infrared-Emitting Garments in Enhancing Objective and Subjective Recovery Following Resistance Exercise”, the research was led by Jonathon R. Lever and a team of esteemed scientists including Cara Ocobock, Valerie Smith-Hale, and John P. Wagle.
Key Findings:
Participants wearing KYMIRA Infrared garments showed significant improvements in neuromuscular recovery at 48 hours post-exercise (p < 0.001).
Notably the mRSI showed highly significant improvements at 24hours (P<0.05), showing greater exercise performance at 24 hours post first exertion, following recovery in KYMIRA infrared garments.
- Subjective recovery was also accelerated, with participants reporting readiness to resume activity within 48 hours, compared to slower recovery in the placebo group.
- Improvements were attributed to enhanced peripheral blood flow, metabolic clearance, and tissue oxygenation facilitated by KYMIRA’s patented infrared technology.
“The research recently published by the University of Notre Dame has provided valuable clinical validation for one of the key applications of KYMIRA’s infrared products – post exercise recovery”, said Founder and CEO Tim Brownstone. “The highly significant benefits seen can help other professional and elite organizations to program the best use of our products in order to replicate these results in their own environments. We have lots of anecdotal data coming directly from teams as well, but we always seek to have independently verified, peer reviewed results to support our claims as well.”
“Recovery is performance. Seeing data show athletes bounce back faster is powerful validation of what KYMIRA was built to do,” said Patrick Dixon, Human Performance Consultant and VP of Business Development at KYMIRA. “Our goal has always been to make performance-enhancing recovery accessible and effortless. This research validates the impact of our infrared technology — showing that smart materials can accelerate recovery and enhance readiness without adding time, equipment, or staff demand.”
This new highly significant study, adds to KYMIRA’s growing body of peer-reviewed clinical research into its groundbreaking infrared garments, totalling 10 significant studies, and a vast body of supporting white paper, internal, case study and applied data. KYMIRA’s infrared wear is increasingly being adopted as a secret weapon by elite sport professionals worldwide, including use in the NFL, NBA, Premier League, Formula 1, MLS, NCAA, WNBA, MBL, World Cup and Premiership rugby and football, athletics and many more.
