The brand’s signed a multi-year agreement with New York Road Runners, which also encompasses event sponsorship, youth programming, global licensing, ecommerce and retail rights for the community running organisation’s other events, such as the Bronx 10-Mile and the 5th Avenue Mile.
This activity begins in 2016, while the NYC Marathon sponsorship kicks off in 2017.
New Balance will also be collaborating with NYRR on the opening of the new NYRR running centre next year.
The centre will serve as the hub for NYRR runner services and feature a New Balance retail component.
For every pair of New Balance shoes sold at the NYRR running centre, NYRR and New Balance plan to donate an additional pair to youngsters in need living in the five boroughs of New York.
