Former Olympian and Hilly Clothing brand ambassador Ron Hill (pictured) opened Advanced Performance’s new store in Fengate East, Peterborough on November 10.
The fast-growing running specialist’s new premises allows the retailer to provide an expanded range of triathlon equipment, sports science testing and, in association with the local Fitzwilliam Hospital, in-store physiotherapy.
“I was thrilled that we had Ron here to officially open the new store for us,” says Samantha Hale, Advance Performance’s founder and managing director.
“It was a great day, with so many people here to see Ron and what we have new to offer.”
Before the official opening of the store, local runners had the chance to go for a run with Hill, obtaining coaching and advice along the way.
During the session the lucky individuals had the opportunity to find out Hill’s running secrets and how he become a formidable athlete in the 1970s, when he became the second man in history to break the 2:10 hour marathon time and the first British runner to win the Boston marathon.
