Canterbury of New Zealand has signed a four-year sponsorship deal with the Rugby Union of Russia ahead of their presence at the Rugby World Cup 2011.
“We are delighted to have an association with Russia at their first World Cup in 2011 alongside the world champion Springboks, Scotland, USA Eagles and Japan,” says Chris Stephenson, chief executive of Canterbury.
“Our high-tech fabrics, advanced scientific testing and comprehensive designs will ensure that the Rugby Union of Russia are kitted out in the world’s most innovative kit to date.”
Stephenson adds: “We were particularly impressed with the professional organisation and leadership set-up that Steve Diamond, director of rugby, has instilled in the union and have no doubt that rugby will continue to grow and become a significant sport in this territory.
“This four-year commitment reinforces Canterbury as the ultimate global rugby brand and we look forward to seeing the team progress and the passion for rugby prosper further within Russia.”
