With two years to go until the Netball World Cup 2023, World Netball reveals their ‘Your Netball World’ mosaic of inspiring global stories

Today World Netball reveals their ‘Your Netball World’ mosaic, filled with over 1400 inspirational stories from athletes, officials and grassroots netball players from around the world. With individual messages from over 30 countries, big netball names such as England Commonwealth Games gold medallists Beth Cobden and Eboni Usoro-Brown, as well as former England player and current Scotland head coach Tamsin Greenway have all added tiles in the mosaic, celebrating a world united by our unique sport.

Here are just some of the inspirational stories from the mosaic’s entrants:
Tamsin Greenway, former England player, Scotland head coach, Sky presenter/pundit: “Netball is my passion. It has given me friends, adventures and memories to last a lifetime.”
Beth Cobden, England Commonwealth Games gold medallist and 2021 VSNL winner with Loughborough Lightning: “Working together with a group of awesome women all chasing the same goal. Can’t beat the friendships, fun, challenges and memories netball provides!”

Eboni Usoro-Brown, England Commonwealth Games gold medallist; “Netball is my passion, it’s a sport that I’ve grown up playing and it has presented me with some of the best moments of my life. It’s my safe place, and I cherish every opportunity the sport has afforded to me.”

Hollie Knowles, grassroots player from the UK: “My netball family (West Pennine) supported me through my teenage bone cancer journey and continue to allow me to be a valuable member of the squad as a coach now I’m in remission but due to the cancer I can no longer play and have limited mobility.”

Emily Jakeman, grassroots player from the UK: “Netball is more than a game to me. It’s friendships, proof of determination, accomplishment and most of all…so much fun! It’s helped break up busy working weeks by letting it out on the court. I love the skills and fitness I have gained from playing.”

Marking the start of the two-year countdown to the Netball World Cup in South Africa, a prize draw will now take place, with one lucky winner winning a trip of a lifetime to be a spectator at the world’s most prestigious netball competition, which takes place from 28 July – 6 August 2023.

As well as this, World Netball will shortly be announcing their Courage Ambassador. Standing alongside fellow ambassadors, who will be globally recognised athletes, officials and sporting figures, the Courage Ambassador lives and breathes netball.

In recognition of their embodiment of a core World Netball value, the Courage Ambassador will have a role at the Netball World Cup 2023, South Africa in a once-in-a-lifetime experience to be part of the global, iconic event.
