Four Premier League sides who have done the best business so far this season

With just weeks to go until the 2025/26 Premier League season kicks off

With just weeks to go until the 2025/26 Premier League season kicks off, clubs across the top flight have been busy shaping their squads in the summer transfer window.

From headline-grabbing signings to shrewd bargains, the business thus far has helped shape the outright league winners and relegation markets—which could be of interest if you have a freebet.

In this article, we spotlight four Premier League sides who, in our view, have done the best dealings so far this summer.

Liverpool

The defending Premier League champions have spent little time resting on their laurels, as the club’s chiefs have moved quickly to strengthen Arne Slot’s dressing room ahead of the new season.

While Mohamed Salah and Virgil van Dijk signed new deals, Trent Alexander-Arnold opted not to—and joined Real Madrid for a cut price.

The Reds need not worry, though, as Jeremie Frimpong is a more than suitable replacement at right back, while his Bayer Leverkusen teammate Florian Wirtz has also made the switch to Anfield.

The 22-year-old German international could prove to be one of the signings of the summer, but arrives with something to prove after setting Liverpool back £116 million.

Milos Kerkez is another standout signing for the Merseyside giants, offering something new at left-back with Andy Robertson ageing and Kostas Tsimikas surplus to requirements.

Tottenham Hotspur

Despite winning their first trophy in 16 years when beating Manchester United in the Europa League final, Tottenham Hotspur are gearing up for yet another new era.

Ange Postecoglou was sacked after much deliberation by Daniel Levy, and former Brentford boss Thomas Frank becomes the club’s fifth permanent boss since 2019.

The Dane has already started to make some major changes to the squad, bringing in Mohammed Kudus and Morgan-Gibbs White from West Ham United and Nottingham Forest.

Both bring fresh attacking options from the midfield or flanks for Frank, with the ability to score goals themselves and provide chances for Dominic Solanke and company.

Manchester City

It’s a summer of transition in a way for Manchester City, as they say goodbye to another one of the club’s greatest servants—Kevin De Bruyne.

After a lacklustre trophyless campaign last year and an earlier than expected exit to Al Hilal in the Club World Cup, serious questions are being asked of Pep Guardiola going into the new season.

De Bruyne’s absence heightens tensions around the Etihad, but Man City have brought in Rayan Cherki and Tijjani Reijnders to tighten the midfield.

Rayan Ait-Nouri, though just 24, brings a wealth of Premier League experience after making over 135 appearances in the top flight for Wolverhampton Wanderers and is ready to step right in at left back.

Arsenal

Many might feel Arsenal have missed their chance to end their Premier League title drought after three successive second-place finishes, but this is set to be another big summer window for Arteta.

The Gunners have already brought in Kepa Arrizabalaga as backup to David Raya, as well as Martin Zubimendi and Christian Norgaard to strengthen the midfield.

However, their business is far from over. Noni Madueke is on the move across London, making the switch from Chelsea for a reported £52m.

The marque signing, though, will be Viktor Gyokeres from Sporting Lisbon. Arsenal have been crying out for a striker for a number of years, and he might just be the man to fire them to glory.
