It’s been another incredible weekend in racing with our Compressport Triathletes producing the best results we’ve seen so far this year in the prestigious T100 series that landed in London.
Our current World Champion Sam Laidlow gave us a breathtaking performance as he set London alight, leaving the field in his wake from the bike, holding off the chasers to take his first T100 win. While Frederic Funk also gave his best race in the series with a 5th place finish, followed just behind by Pieter Heemeryck in 6th.
Meanwhile in the women´s race, it was a gutsy return to racing by Lisa Norden who made us proud on her way to 12th place finish after a difficult start to the year.
We go into a new month with huge excitement and anticipation of the biggest races still to come across Trail Running and Triathlon!
A massive 2 days of racing as the prestigious T100 series headed to London. We witnessed 6 of our top Triathletes putting on amazing performances…
The women’s race was the first to get underway on Saturday and we were so thrilled to see Lisa Norden back to racing and mixing it amongst the World’s best.
A strong swim and bike left her inside the top 10 and pushing hard on the tough run course. Finally crossing the line for 12th, it was great to see the Swede back. A performance to be proud of!
Marjolaine Pierre despite having a difficult day, never gave up and continues to fight as she heads towards her main goal of the season with the home World Championships in Nice, France.
Yesterday’s men´s race was everything we have come to see in the T100 racing so far this year. A brilliant battle amongst the lead where our 4 men were incredible. Having a very strong race, Sam Laidlow attacked the race on the bike and put in a bike gap to his chasers as he headed into T2. Coming in 2nd and having his best race so far in the series, Frederic Funk posted the 2nd fastest bike split. While coming into T2 with Alistair Brownlee, Pieter Heemeryck was also in contention, knowing his run is amongst the best over the distance.
With a 1´30¨ gap, Sam showed us again why he is current World Champion and despite chaser Kyle Smith digging deep to close the gap, could only get within 25 seconds of him before he blasted to his first T100 Victory!! An incredible performance and great signs just a few months from the World Championships.
Maintaining his position in top 5, Frederic put in a huge despite some big chasers, crossing the line for 5th, also in his best result in the T100 to date!
Meanwhile Pieter Heemeryck did what he does best, finishing with a huge run splite to come storming home for 6th place.
Unfortunately with some fatigue still lingering from the podium of Challenge Roth, Rudy Von Berg
