Gary Anderson’s win will boost demand for Unicorn Darts products, MD says

The Unicorn sponsored Anderson (pictured) beat Adrian Lewis by seven sets to five to retain the PDC World Championship title at Alexandra Palace on Sunday (January 3).

Unicorn Darts managing director Edward Lowy described the win as: “A terrific night for Gary,” adding: “It was a terrific night for Unicorn Darts and a terrific night for all our trade customers, who can look forward to increased demand for all Unicorn Darts products.

“All credit to Sky Sports and the PDC for such a fantastic tournament and we are proud that every dart in the tournament, including a record number of 180s in the final, was thrown at a Unicorn Eclipse HD TV Edition.”

Anderson’s feat means he collected the Sid Waddell Trophy for the second straight year, a cheque for £300,000 and a place in the history books.

Anderson says: “I guess it wasn’t spectacular, but it felt dramatic.

“Adrian played superbly, but I kept thinking that I don’t want to give up the trophy.

“To win back-to-back world championships is a fabulous, fabulous achievement.

“The Sid Waddell Trophy means so very much and it will take a little time for all this to sink in.”
