Canterbury and Cardiff Blues unveiled the new 2014/15 European shirt to supporters attending the region’s Family Fun Day at BT Sport Cardiff Arms Park on July 19.
The green shirt has been influenced by club sponsor DS Smith, a recycling company that focuses on adopting solutions that lead to zero waste.
The company’s tagline – Turning The Blues Green – is printed across the back of the newshirt in a bid to encourage the club and fans into a more green way of thinking.
The Test shirt is designed to be worn tight while allowing flexibility, movement and comfort.
The side seams have been brought to the back to reduce the stress point of seam breakage and the cuffs are constructed from a nylon/spandex, blend ensuring a streamlined fit around the players’ bicep.
Adorning the chest are embroidered Canterbury and Cardiff Blues logos, while the transfixed sponsor’s logos are on the front centre, arms, shoulders and back panel.
The shirt also features the motto ‘Strength Through Unity’ on the inside of the collar.
The collar, Loop 21.1, is an evolution of Canterbury’s signature neckline, which has been developed for enhanced durability.
This plus triple-bar tacks are configured to increase the strength of the shirt at the usual vulnerable areas, vastly reducing the risk of rips and tears.
